As I mentioned before on Andy's talk page, the usage of "the Jews" especially in the Gospel of John is highly misleading—the sect(s) Jesus rebuke(s) is/are the same between the Four Gospels, with the Synoptics clarifying its reference to the Pharisees, scribes, Sadducees, and/or chief priests.
