In an effort to prevent violence, Israel installed temporary security gates in Jerusalem, and the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas responded with state-sponsored incitement, encouraging young people to violently riot against minimal security measures implemented to reduce friction and prevent conflict. Contemporaneously, a group of Arab families in the eastern Jerusalem neighbourhood of Shimon HaTzaddik, known in Arabic as Sheikh Jarrah, had been fighting eviction in a longstanding property dispute that was about to be ruled on by Israel’s Supreme Court. Sensing an opportunity and seizing on it, both the PA and Hamas positioned the court decision as an assault on Muslims worldwide and, once again, encouraged their followers on social media to violently riot. Hence Israel’s claim that a real estate dispute was used to foment discord and incite violence. And thus, the “TikTok intifada” was born with videos encouraging Palestinians to attack Israelis. And these messages were exported worldwide. Jews were attacked in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Montreal and elsewhere. Bloodthirsty lynch mobs roamed the streets trying spark a pogrom of the likes we haven’t seen since Kristallnacht. Unbridled anti-Semitism was on full display.</blockquote>

Let's recall that the lynching happened about two years ago, after Avia proposed marriage to his chosen heart Shahar in Beit Ha-Hoshen overlooking the Temple Mount.  On their way back from the marriage proposal, their car was blocked by Arab rioters who started throwing rocks and stones at them. Aviah got out of the car and was beaten, stoned and even stabbed in the back. Shahar managed to escape and join the police, and her injured father also came to them. He was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital, and was hospitalized and needed prolonged medical treatment - which postponed the couple's engagement party.

The district court in Bashkortostan accepted the position of the prosecutor's office and sentenced the accused to 9 years in prison, who took part in the lynching of an Israeli citizen on a racial basis and out of a nationalist-ideological motive during the "Guardian of the Walls" operation.
  −
The district court ruled that the appropriate punitive response to the severity of the accused's actions, which were carried out out of nationalist, ideological motives and harm to the complainant and his property, just because he is Jewish, should be stricter and express the purpose of the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Law, which is a significant worsening of the fight against terrorism in all its aspects.
  −

  −
The attorney's office stated: The court accepted the attorney's office's position and sent a clear message expressing its disgust with the defendant's actions and that the punishment of those who commit racially motivated hate crimes and act against civilians and the security forces should be harsher, especially during tense and sensitive periods and certainly during a military operation.  The accused, an Israeli citizen, seriously injured the complainant only because he was Jewish and we hope that the sentence will deter those who seek to harm the delicate fabric of relations between the various religions and denominations in the State of Israel.
  −
The accused, Abdel Aziz Amrani, 21 years old from the Bedouin diaspora, together with others, participated in the riots on Route 25, at the entrance to the settlement of Segev Shalom, which occurred as part of a wave of disturbances and violent riots throughout the country, on a nationalist-racist background, during Operation "Guardian of the Walls"  .  The accused, violating conditions of full house arrest, equipped himself with a cloth machine gun.. and gloves, and when he was masked, he took part along with others in disturbances, which included throwing stones at Jewish vehicles, police cars, blocking roads with burning tires and more.  On May 11, 2021, out of a nationalist-ideological motive and during his participation in the riots, the accused, along with others, threw stones at the car of a Jewish driver who happened to be at the scene of the riot.  The driver, asking to be spared him, shouted that he was an Arab, but the crowd, including the accused, attacked him, took him out of his vehicle and threw him to the ground.  He was beaten on the head, back and ribs with their hands, with kicks and clubs, stones were thrown at him, shouting to slaughter him because he was Jewish and his car was smashed by the accused and the crowd.  The victim of the offense was rescued from the scene by police forces, who had to use stun grenades, in order to keep the crowd away from him.
  −
As part of the case management, the accused admitted to committing the acts, but denied that it was an act of terrorism.  The district court rejected the claim, and convicted the defendant of committing a terrorist act of aggravated malicious wounding according to the Anti-Terrorism Law, the offenses of throwing or shooting a stone or other object at a means of transport, intentionally damaging a racially motivated vehicle, rioting and violating a legal order.</font></blockquote></ref><ref>[https://www.inn.co.il/flashes/877844  9 years in prison for a Bedouin who participated in a lynching during Operation "Guardian of the Walls"], ''INN'',  07/13/22.<blockquote><font size=1>

The Haifa District Attorney's Office today (Monday) filed indictments in the city's district court against six Tamra residents, for lynching a Jew who happened to be in the settlements, when they are charged with a terrorist act of aggravated assault.  The incident happened on May 12, during the disturbances that broke out throughout the country during the "Guardian of the Walls" operation.  The six are also accused of willfully damaging a vehicle for reasons of racism, rioting and attempting to attack a police officer under aggravated circumstances.
  −
Four of the accused are 22-year-old Ibrahim Merih, who was arrested the day after the incident;  19-year-old Muhammad Abu al-Hija, who was arrested a week later;  20-year-old Baha Abu al-Hijah, who was arrested after five more days;  and 18-year-old Muhammad Abu Rumi, who was arrested ten days ago. The four of them confessed to the actions during the joint investigation of the Shin Bet and the North District District Attorney's Office, and Moriah and Abu Rumi even admitted that they had a nationalist motive.
  −
The other defendants are 19-year-old Mustafa Awad and Ahmed Merih, who denied their involvement and even claimed an alibi - but implicated each other in conflicting versions.  In addition to this, other people as well as the evidence in the case - incriminated the two.  For example, the prosecution claims that Ahmed Merih recorded in a WhatsApp conversation confirms that he will attend the riots that evening and even inquires with his friends which of them knows how to make Molotov cocktails.

"Everything is based on a nationalist-ideological motive," claims attorney Yaniv Zohar, the prosecutor who is simultaneously requesting the extension of the detention of the six, until the end of the legal proceedings against them.</font></blockquote></ref> Worst, the three who confessed for racist attack, got encouragements on social media from hundreds of Arab residents in Tamra.<ref>Yair Krauss, [https://www.makorrishon.co.il/news/514683/ "May Allah set you free": hundreds of supporters of the Arabs from Tamra who confessed to the lynching], ''Makor Rishon'', Aug 10, 2022.<blockquote><font size=1>

Three Tamra residents confessed to the act of lynching and vandalism for reasons of racism.  The publication of their decision to now go into custody from the house arrest where they have been until today, received many encouragements on Facebook.

Those convicted of the lynching of a Jew in the city of Tamra and acts of terrorism during the Guardian of the Walls riots in May of last year are receiving enthusiastic support and admiration on social media.  In an update post on their legal situation posted by 12 news reporter Furat Nassar on his popular Arabic language Facebook page, over 140 responses of sympathy and support were received and close to two thousand 'likes' for his news about the decision of three young people, residents of Tamra, who confessed to participating in the violent riots in Tamra and committing lynching of Shir Alkalai, to go to prison until the end of the proceedings against them and the sentencing.
  −
The many respondents, including the residents of the city of Tamra and the Galilee, blessed those convicted of the crimes, Muhammad Abu Rumi, Muhammad Abu Al Hijah and Baha Abu Al Hijah and wished them that Allah would free them from the 'captivity' in which they are and return them to the bosom of their families.  In response to Nassar's news, the supporters asked to strengthen the spirit and faith of the young people of Tamra...

In June 2021, the Haifa district attorney's office filed indictments against six Tamra residents, for lynching a Jew who happened to be in the settlement and for willful vandalism in a vehicle for reasons of racism, rioting and attempting to attack a police officer under aggravated circumstances.  According to the indictment filed at the time, on May 12, 21, around midnight, Shir Alkalai, 49 years old, married and father of four, ran into the area.  He made his way from his job as a private gardener to his home in the nearby Mitzpe Aviv, with a large "Nachman MeUman" sticker on his car.  Due to the riots, the roads to the isolated settlement where he lives were blocked, and he took a detour through Tamra.  When he had to stop the car in the traffic he got into, one of the people on the spot approached him, asked him if he was Arab, and when he replied that he was Jewish - a man started shouting at him in a voice "Jew, Jew".  So they gathered around his car, threw stones at him from close range, and beat the car with kicks and punches.  The rioters pulled out Alkalai's work tools, including a rake, wooden sticks, scissors, an electric saw and an aluminum rod - and hit his vehicle with the tools, smashed his windows, hit him through the shattered windows and through the passenger door which they managed to open.  Again and again they tried to take him out of the vehicle in order to beat him, and he had to protect his head with his hands.
  −
According to the indictment, the defendants threw a stone at the window and beat Alkalai and one of them pulled his hair hard in order to get him out of the vehicle and end the lynching.  He was saved by some residents who took him to the intensive care van of the "El Zahraoui" company, which evacuated him in serious condition with serious injuries in all parts of his body to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
  −
Since then they were accused and convicted after admitting to the indictment, the young men were under house arrest under electronic shackles but yesterday (Tuesday) they returned to prison after they asked to begin serving their sentence, which has not yet been completed, behind bars.  Attorneys Tami Ulman and Shadi Srugi, who represent the young men, advised them not to wait any longer under house arrest, until their sentence is heard, since this period of detention is not counted towards serving their expected sentence, but only actual imprisonment in the prison. The sentence in their case is expected to be determined by Judge Erez Porat in the district court in Haifa on October 23, 2022.
  −
Judge Porat is known for his lenient approach and the low sentences he hands down to participants in disturbances during Operation Guardian of the Walls. His rulings have been criticized more than once by Supreme Court judges who accepted the appeals of the prosecutor's office in several cases he discussed and determined that Porat exceeded his authority when he eased in punishment.</font></blockquote></ref>

In a piece "Antisemitism in Acre is reminiscent of darker times," local journalist debunked lefty excuses. Pointing also to his mayor in the mixed city of Acre actually investing more resources for Arabs than for Jews and still the elephant in the room is Arab nationalism and Islamic intolerance elements behind the massive violence.<ref>Y Kraus, [https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-706563 Antisemitism in Acre is reminiscent of darker times], ''JPost'', May 13, 2022.<blockquote><font size=1>

These disturbing scenes are reminiscent of darker times in Jewish history, when we were powerless at the hands of our non-Jewish neighbors.

May 11, 2021, was a watershed for Jewish-Arab relations in Israel, especially in my hometown of Acre. On that day, hundreds of Arab residents took to the streets, motivated by their hatred of Jews. They sought to murder, burn and destroy. These scenes were repeated in mixed cities throughout the country, such as Ramle and Lod. Living in Acre, I honestly feared for my life, as well of those of my family and friends.

In Acre, after four days of rioting, more than 60 Jewish-owned businesses were burned, destroyed or looted. [https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/right-wing-rioters-smash-windows-of-arab-owned-businesses-in-bat-yam-667993] Three Jews were lynched by Arab mobs in the city center. A year later, they continue to suffer severe disabilities and require serious medical care. For four full days, the police and the authorities did not step in to quell the looting and lawlessness.
  −

  −
The terrorists that took to the streets also targeted Jewish-owned hotels and hostels, while Jews hid inside. Trapped in one burning building was acclaimed Israeli aerospace scientist Avi Har-Even, 85, who later succumbed to his wounds. Har-Even had previously been awarded the prestigious Israel Defense Prize for his working in developing life-saving security technologies.

Of course, these violent terrorists do not represent all Arab residents of Acre. That being said, the rioters cannot be dismissed as irrelevant or insignificant. Twenty thousand Arabs live in Acre, and several hundreds of them are our enemy. They have been emboldened by what they see as victory over the Jews and are waiting for another round. These Arab radicals are violent, dangerous and waiting to strike again at the Jews.

Since the May riots, the antisemitic harassment and violence has continued. Our children’s schools have been the targets of violence. Young Arab boys regularly throw stones at Jewish school children, spit and curse them. After 7 p.m., Jews do not walk in the city center or the beach promenade. They are scared of being attacked by Arab thugs. Every Friday night, when religious Jews walk to synagogues in the city center, Arab youths regularly harass them, insult and humiliate them.

There is a trend of Jewish emigration from mixed cities, accelerated by Arab aggression. A friend of mine lives near City Hall, where he is the last Jew left in his building. He lives on a street that was completely Jewish twenty years ago. Every Saturday, Arab children throw stones at his porch and windows. They make sure to get his laundry dirty, in order to make him leave his home. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident.

These disturbing scenes are reminiscent of darker times in Jewish history, when we were powerless at the hands of our non-Jewish neighbors. They should have been relegated to Kishinev or Baghdad in the 1900s, not the sovereign Jewish state in 2022.
  −

  −
This situation did not develop in a vacuum. The Arab perpetrators believe that they will succeed in driving Jews away from Acre. Right now, Jews do not feel safe in their homes. Jewish fear only encourages Arab extremism and irredentism. Each side knows that it is only a matter of time until the powder keg explodes again.
  −

  −
Despite the blatant nationalist and anti-Jewish nature of the violence, there is in an attempt in some quarters to sweep Arab extremism under the rug. Many people, especially on the Israeli left, refuse to look Arab separatism in the eyes. They offer excuses, such as unequal allocation of resources, discrimination[sic] and neglect. According to this narrative, the May riots were a civil protest, even if they may have gotten out of hand.
  −

  −
This narrative is very convenient as it alleviates the need to acknowledge that many elements of Arab society are fundamentally opposed to Jewish presence and statehood. It also ignores the fact that the mayor of Acre has prioritized the Arab school system, investing more in Arab education than in the Jewish system, in order to raise the economic and social well-being of Acre's residents.
  −

  −
The truth is that Acre is a welcoming and overall good place for its Arab residents. They enjoy flourishing community life, cultural and educational activities, as well as booming commerce and business opportunities. However, radical ideologies in the Arab sector are straining and challenging any semblance of common life. We must openly recognize that there are radical Islamic and Arab nationalist elements that do not accept the existence of a Jewish state.
  −

  −
This situation simply cannot continue. In recent months, I have been reporting on the antisemitic events happening regularly on the streets of Acre. The municipality and the state must set down a firm hand and protect their citizens. Israel governed by the rule of law, which applies equally to all citizens. Unless Israel is willing to reassert its sovereignty and crack down on Arab lawlessness, it is only a matter of time until May 2021’s violence repeats itself. The writing is on the wall. This time around, Israel cannot feign surprise.</font></blockquote></ref>

Reminding, the hateful attacks go on: "Since the May riots, the antisemitic harassment and violence has continued. Our children’s schools have been the targets of violence.
