There are many other religions in the world, with many thousands of gods. Pantheistic cultures are common, where a society has a number of gods, all serving different purposes. These differ fundamentally from the Judaeo-Christian position, in that there is often no supreme all-powerful god. Other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism claim, unlike the Judaeo-Christian religions, to be more effective for peace-loving societies.
