A '''sermon''' is a speech given during a [[worship]] service by the pastor, priest, minister, deacon, or other church leader. The sermon may be about the meaning of a particular portion of [[scripture]] read during the service, commentary and lessons about a specific topic, or it could be a more general exhortation to the congregation on how to conduct one's life. A sermon may, in some churches, conclude with a call for members of the congregation to receive [[salvation]] or [[repent]] of their sins, or it may conclude with a summary or a final point.
