An excellent proposition has been put forward to deal with the plight of both the Palestinian Arabs and Israel- the Oslo Accord (I & II), the first of which was signed in August 1993, ensured that the former had a degree of political autonomy (Palestinian Authority) in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. This was a profound gesture from both sides in terms of an effective peace movement in the Middle East, especially between Arafat and Rabin.
