A pseudo-Futurist viewpoint among renegade historicists, particularly Adventists but also other Christians, contends that with the healing of the beast's wound (Revelation 13:3) corresponds to the Lateran Treaty of 1929 whereby Fascist Italy restored the Papal State, the five Popes were the "five are fallen," John Paul II was the "is," and Benedict XVI was the "will continue a short space" because he resigned.
