On December 29, 2023 the city of [[Belgorod]] in the [[Russian Federation]] was shelled with two Olkha missiles carrying prohibited [[cluster munition]]s from a Czech-made Vampire [[MLRS]]. Cluster munitions are designed to inflict maximum damage to persons. The city mall in the central district, a popular gathering place for locals for festive events during holiday season was targeted. A local ice-skating rink was hit in the strike. 24 civilians, including 4 children were killed. 131 civilians, including 18 children, were injured.<ref>https://tass.com/russia/1728431</ref>
