Nathan Wade was paid $654,000 at $250 per hour since January 2022, compensation that as district  attorney, Willis authorized. In July 2022, Judge Robert McBurney reprimanded Willis during a court session as she had organized a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate who was running against someone she might potentially prosecute.
