::::::[[C.S. Lewis]] was a former [[atheist]] who admirably debunked the [[British]] atheism all around him. The [[Bible]] critics to which he refers were probably on the wrong track as he says.  But they weren't [[conservative]] critics pointing out [[liberal]] and other vandalism to the original text.  [[Liberal]] [[troll]]s have aways existed and worth undoing their mischief.  The original endings of the [[Gospel of Mark]] and the [[Gospel of John]] are worth preserving without pollution.--[[User:Aschlafly|Andy Schlafly]] ([[User talk:Aschlafly|talk]]) 15:28, January 14, 2024 (EST)

The C.S. Lewis essay is fantastic and drives home the point that Bible critics often make subjective judgements that are wrong. I prefer a Joe Friday approach of "Just the facts, Ma'am" combined with a rigorous probabilistic analysis in weighing evidence. And in my life, I have found that spending time reading/memorizing/studying the Bible is greatly preferrable that reading individuals subjective opinions on the Bible - especially those who have not intensely studied the matter (Strong knowledge of Greek/Hebrew, ANE culture, etc.).
