The '''Tropicbirds''' are seabirds similar to [[gannet]]s and [[cormorant]]s. They are mostly white with some black parts, and have red bills and long, streamer-like tail feathers. They catch fish by diving into the sea for their prey.
There are three species found in American waters:
*[[White-tailed Tropicbird]] - [[Dry tortugas]] and occasionally further north.
*[[Red-billed Tropicbird]] - a rare visitor to [[California]]n waters and the [[Gulf of Mexico]] and Atlantic coast.
*[[Red-tailed Tropicbird]] - almost pure white; a rare vagrant to California.
