'''James Sanders''' is a [[National Football League]] safety for the [[New England Patriots]]. He was born on November 11, 1983 in Porterville, [[California]]. Sanders in 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.
== College Football ==
From 2002 through 2004, Sanders played college football for the [[Fresno State]] Bulldogs. He was a starter at defense back all three of those years and in total played in 40 games and started 32 for the Bulldogs.
== NFL Career ==
In 2005 the [[New England Patriots]] drafted Sanders in the forth round of the [[2005 NFL Draft]]. In his rookie season played in ten games with the Patriots and made two starts at safety. He recorded his first career NFL interception and touchdown on the same play in the Patriots 2005 regular season week thirteen victory over the [[Buffalo Bills]], when he intercepted a pass and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. In 2006, Sanders played a greater role in the Patriots defense. He played in all sixteen of the Patriots regular season games and also made five starts. Although he struggled early in the season while in pass coverage as the 2006 season progress, so did Sanders' coverage skills. He finished the 2006 season with a total of 44 tackles, one sack and one interception.
