Changes

The Democratic party and liberal Republicans were angered with [[Grant]]'s seeming lack of skill in politics.  To oppose him they nominated [[Horace Greely]] as their candidate.  The election was bitter and tiring for both candidates.  Unfortunately, Greely died during the campaign and thus didn't recieve any of the electoral votes.  <ref> [[Encyclopedia of Presidents, Ulysses S.
