Christ the King is a [[Catholic]] Teaching based on the Encyclical Quas Primas of [[Pope Pius XI]].<ref>http://www.vatican.va/content/pius-xi/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xi_enc_11121925_quas-primas.html</ref> It is also a Biblical [[Christian]] Teaching based on the rights of Christ's Kingship. It affirms as a Sovereign Right of [[Jesus Christ]] to be recognized as "King of kings and Lord of lords" (Rev 19:16) by all peoples everywhere. St. John the Apostle also describes Jesus Christ the King as "the Prince over the kings of the Earth" (Rev 1:5). The Archangel had said to the Virgin Mother concerning Christ, "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever" (Luk 1:32). And Christ Himself said "All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth."(Mat 28:18). He therefore has a divine right to be worshiped, on Earth as in Heaven, as the Supreme King and Sovereign Lord of all.

In Ubi Arcano, the Pope wrote: "It is, therefore, a fact which cannot be questioned that the true peace of Christ can only exist in the Kingdom of Christ - "the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ." It is no less unquestionable that, in doing all we can to bring about the re-establishment of Christ's kingdom, we will be working most effectively toward a lasting world peace. Pius X in taking as his motto "To restore all things in Christ" was inspired from on High to lay the foundations of that "work of peace" which became the program and principal task of Benedict XV. These two programs of Our Predecessors We desire to unite in one - the re-establishment of the Kingdom of Christ by peace in Christ - "the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ."<ref>http://w2.vatican.va/content/pius-xi/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xi_enc_19221223_ubi-arcano-dei-consilio.html</ref>
