::::Karajou, the scholar Stephen Kotkin, who wrote a definitive 3 volume work on Joseph Stalin, recently said that Russia has a history of self-destruction. Given all the cultural damage that the godless Soviet Union caused in Russia, Russia's major alcoholism problem, and its disastrous war in Ukraine which is causing much damage to Russia's demographic crisis and its long-term economic prospects (resources diverted to the war do not go into R & D, education, improving its low labor productivity), Kotkin does have a point.
