Robert Pattinson will play Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves' ''The Batman,'' due out in 2022.  The film was originally set for an October 2021 release.  However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the release date was pushed back.  Colin Farrell will play The Penguin, Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman, and Paul Dano will play The Riddler.  A trailer was released in August 2020 to positive acclaim.  At the time of the trailer's release, only 25% of the movie had been completed.

Robert Pattinson played Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2022's ''The Batman'', directed by Matt Reeves.  Colin Farrell and Zoe Kravitz played The Penguin and Catwoman respectively.  The film is a darker and gritter take on the character during his second year.  It was originally going to be tied to the DCEU, and would've been Ben Affleck's first solo movie as the character.  The film garnered positive reviews, with many sighting the film's length at three hours being it's significant negative.  A sequel, tentatively titled ''The Batman: Part II'' is due for release October 2026.
