Humberside County Council is a former council area (or "administrative county") in northern and eastern England. It covered an area of south-eastern Yorkshire, including most of the East Riding and a small part of the West Riding, and the northern part of Lindsey in Lincolnshire (however, none of the counties or their subdivisions were abolished by its creation). Established by the Local Government Act 1972, it existed between April 1 1974 and the same date in 1996. The council had its admin HQ at Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The northernmost point of the area covered by the council was Wold Newton in Yorkshire, with the southernmost point being a village of the same name in Lincolnshire.

The new council was never able to attract the loyalty or affection of its inhabitants (who had strong ties to their respective counties proper) and even the opening of the Humber Bridge in 1981 - the main link between the northern and southern parts of the council area - failed to bind it closer together. In 1996 the county was abolished and its territory divided between the new unitary authorities of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.
