'''Jeanne Calment''' (February 21, 1875 - August 4, 1997) is the disputed world's oldest person, allegedly aged 122 years when she died in 1997. While a birth date associated with her has been authenticated based on official records,<ref>http://www.demogr.mpg.de/books/odense/6/09.htm</ref> some scientists suggest based on photos that it was really her daughter and not her who died a remarkable 122 years later. The oldest undisputed lifespan of any woman is 119 years, and statistically it would be unexpected for one to live another 3 years longer than the outer parameter of what has been confirmed.

'''Jeanne Calment''' (February 21, 1875 - August 4, 1997) is the current holder of the Guinness title "World's Oldest Person"<ref>http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records-5000/oldest-person/</ref>, who was (according to Guinness) aged 122 years when she died in 1997.

While a birth date associated with her has been authenticated based on official records<ref>http://www.demogr.mpg.de/books/odense/6/09.htm</ref>, which serves as the basis for the Guinness record, there is some dispute as to her actual age at death.  According to the research of Russian gerontologist Valery Novoselov and mathematician Nikolay Zak in 2018, Jeanne Calment actually died in 1934 (at the not so remarkable age of 56), whereupon her daughter Yvonne (who allegedly died in 1934 at the young age of 36) assumed Jeanne's identify and lived to be 99.

The oldest undisputed lifespan of any woman is 119 years (Kane Tanaka, who lived from 1903-2022), and statistically it would be unexpected for one to live another 3 years longer than the outer parameter of what has been confirmed.
