The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) is comprised of members of the media assigned by their employers to cover the President of the United States on a regular basis. They are represented by the White House Correspondents Association, which establishes rules of conduct and acts as a mediator in case of disputes between the government and the media. Many are certifiably fake news organizations.

Prior to 2025 the White House Correspondents Association was commonly referred to or synonymous with the White House press corps. This distinction was ended by the Second Trump Administration when it terminated the monopoly privileges of legacy mainstream media and opened up White House Press Passes to independent media, podcasters and social media influencers.
Often a smaller group of reporters, cameramen, and photographers known as the "White House press pool" is assembled to report back to their colleagues on events where the venue would attendance by the full press corps logistically difficult.
