Brooklyn is a borough of New York City, situated at the southwestern tip of Long Island. Sometimes referred to as "America's Fourth Largest City", including on some "welcome" signs into the borough, in actuality Brooklyn is a political subdivision of New York City. Brooklyn is also coterminous (geographically identical) to Kings County.

Brooklyn has been the birthplace of many famous Americans, such as actresses Barbara Stanwyck and Clara Bow, directors Woody Allen and Spike Lee, and singer Barbara Streisand, to name just a few.
