==Debunking historical myths==
==Debunking historical myths==
The name itself in Soviet/Russian history, the "[[Great Patriotic War]]", debunks many myths about [[Stalinism]] & [[communism]]. Communist doctrine opposed the Patriotism and [[nationalism]] (the [[White Army]] after the [[World War I]]), yet the Communists under Stalin allowed the history of their greatest struggle to bow to the patriotic, nationalist, and [[Christian]] sentiment of the soldiers and civilians for whom the burden of war fell on. The name itself refutes the claim that communism defeated nazism in World War II. Rather, the patriotic Russian sentiment, based on [[traditional values]], is what motivated the people to fight. It is one of the few instances in history where [[totalitarian]] communists can be said to have compromised with the people out of gratitude for their sacrifice.
