'''Aaron Judge''' is the outspokenly [[Christian]] outfielder for the ''[[New York Yankees]]'' who set in 2022 the [[American League]] single-season home run record of 62 in a 162-game season, breaking the prior record set by [[Roger Maris]] that had stood for 61 years.<ref>Although three players have hit more than 61 home runs in a season, all three -- Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds -- were [[National League]] players, and are universally considered to have done so by using anabolic steroids, which although not illegal at the time provided an athletic advantage; baseball purists thus consider Maris to have previously held the legitimate Major League single-season home run record, and would now consider Judge the legitimate record holder.</ref> He won the American League Most Valuable Player award again in 2024 by hitting 58 home runs.

Judge's record is particularly remarkable due to how he is a right-handed batter.  The other top [[American League]] sluggers -- [[Babe Ruth]] and [[Roger Maris]] -- batted left-handed (as did the slugger Barry Bonds). While Judge trotted from third base to home plate on his record-setting home run, he pointed to the sky in honor of the [[Lord]], as he typically does after a home run.<ref>https://sportsspectrum.com/sport/baseball/2022/10/05/aaron-judge-home-run-record-thank-god/</ref>
