Operation Summit Of Fire (view source)
Revision as of 20:30, September 9, 2025
, 20:30, September 9, 2025no edit summary
The operation, a direct response to mounting threats against Hamas, follows clear warnings from both U.S. President [[Donald Trump]] and Israeli defense officials, signaling Israel's determination to dismantle Hamas' terror infrastructure. In the days leading up to the strike, Trump issued a "final warning" to Hamas, demanding they accept a proposed hostage exchange deal or face severe consequences. Meanwhile, Israel’s Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir made it clear that Hamas' senior leaders would not be safe, no matter where they were.

Also, the 'immediate' timing:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the decision to strike the Hamas leadership in Doha was a direct response to the deadly terror attack in Jerusalem [[Ramot Junction Shooting Massacre (2025)]] a day earlier, and Hamas's claim of responsibility for it.
