Redirecting to Punk
Line 1: Line 1: −
'''Punk rock''' is a genre of [[rock music]] that originated in the mid-[[1970s]] in response to the excesses of mainstream 1970s rock. It is characterized by loud and repetitive music featuring highly-distorted power chords in short, fast forms with stripped-down instrumentation. Lyrics tend to be confrontational, anti-establishment and often vulgar.  Punk rock is often associated with a certain [[subculture]] that involves anti-authoritarian behavior (to the point of rebelliousness) and distinctive dress.
