The Palestine Liberation Organzation (PLO) is an organization attempting to establish an independent Palestinian state near Jerusalem.  This group of Muslim extremists calls for the destruction of the Jewish state and claims to represent Arabs living in Israeli- occupied areas like the West Bank and the Gaza strip.  They have used violence and terrorism to achieve their goals such as in the [[Achille Lauro]] hijacking.
