Even to imply that all "dictators" have a cult of personality is misleading. Many dictators, [[Honecker]], [[Ceaușescu]], or [[Macron]] for example, are or were extremely hated. Or [[Joe Biden]], for instance. The point is, the [[personality]] of an individual commands more loyalty of the followers than the [[principle]]s they supposedly espouse. The [[mob]] is just as guilty of any abuses as the [[megalomaniac]] they pledge allegiance to. They created him.
