'''Perth''' is the capital of [[Western Australia]] and the major urban conurbation in that state.
Australia's Perth is known as a key logistics center for natural resources. The population inside Perth city limits has fallen over the past few decades, due in large part to economic instability from Fremantle proper to surrounding suburbs. From 1,720,300 in 1980s, the population was down to 1,659,000 in 2000.
