Iranian Regime Profits From Human Trafficking, Report Finds.
 +
by Ailin Vilches Arguello. Oct 19, 2026.
 +
 +
In yet another example of Iran’s human rights abuses, the regime is weaponizing human trafficking to fund its regional proxy wars, profiting from the abuse of women, children, and at-risk migrants while forcing marginalized populations into combat to help finance and sustain its network of terrorist groups, a new report has found.
 +
 +
The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA), an Israeli research institute focused on security and foreign policy, released a new analysis last week detailing how Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) exploits women, children, undocumented migrants, and refugees to bankroll its regional ambitions and sustain its proxy forces.
 +
 +
“Until the global community treats the IRGC not just as a geopolitical adversary, but as a criminal enterprise deeply reliant on the financial proceeds of human misery, the regime will continue to monetize vulnerability to fund its survival and project its power,” Ella Rosenberg, a senior research fellow at JCFA, writes in the report.

Syria’s Post-Assad Schoolbooks Promote Jihad, Antisemitism, Islamist Ideology, New Study Finds
 +
October 20, 2026.
 +
Syria’s education system is embracing a new Islamist direction following the fall of the Assad regime, with school materials glorifying jihad and martyrdom and perpetuating antisemitic stereotypes despite the new government’s stated commitment to peace, tolerance, and inclusion, according to a new study.
 +
 +
The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se), a nonprofit organization that analyzes schoolbooks and curricula worldwide, released a new study on Monday examining Syria’s educational materials, analyzing 130 textbooks for grades 1–12 used in the 2025–2026 school year and retained for 2026–2027 and comparing them with textbooks published under the Assad regime between 2011 and 2023.
 +
 +
IMPACT-se’s findings reveal a major ideological shift in Syria’s curriculum since President Ahmed al-Sharaa took power following the ouster of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, with the new textbooks replacing the former regime’s pan-Arab nationalist narrative with an Islamist worldview that glorifies jihad and martyrdom.
 +
 +
Sharaa became Damascus’s transitional president last year after leading a rebel campaign that ousted Assad, whose brutal and authoritarian Iran-backed rule had strained ties with the Arab world during the nearly 14-year Syrian war.
 +
 +
The collapse of Assad’s regime was the result of an offensive spearheaded by Sharaa’s Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, a former al Qaeda affiliate.

Islamist bomb threats from outside the UK’ close schools across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
 +
By Joe Rossiter, October 19, 2026.
 +
 +
Hundreds of schools across Northern Ireland and Scotland have closed after receiving a bomb threat.
 +
 +
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said ‘up to 300’ institutions were emailed the threat – which is believed to be a hoax – adding it came from outside the UK.
 +
 +
Paul Givan, Stormont’s education minister, said the warning was signed ‘Allahu Akbar’ but was not understood to be viable.

French Authorities Seek Suspended Sentence, Two-Year Office Ban for EU Lawmaker Rima Hassan in Terrorism Case. October 21st, 2026.
 +
 +
French authorities are seeking a 10-month suspended prison sentence and a two-year ban from public office for European Parliament lawmaker Rima Hassan after prosecutors accused her of glorifying terrorism in online remarks, intensifying scrutiny of her controversial anti-Israel rhetoric.
 +
Hassan — a 34-year-old French-Palestinian lawyer and activist who was elected to the European Parliament in 2024 — is standing trial in France over social media remarks which prosecutors have linked to support for terrorism, including a quote from one of the perpetrators of the deadly 1972 Tel Aviv airport massacre that killed 26 people.
 +
Expected to be handed down on Nov. 30, the sentence would not require Hassan to serve time in prison unless she violates the conditions of the suspended term, while the proposed two-year ban would bar her from holding public office.
 +
The French lawmaker from the
 +
far-left party La France Insoumise
 +
had shared a quote attributed to a Japanese terrorist who carried out the deadly attack, in a social media post that has since been deleted.
 +
“Kozo Okamoto: I dedicated my youth to the Palestinian cause. As long as there is oppression, resistance will not only be a right, but a duty,” Hassan reportedly wrote.
 +
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the post “resembles a tribute,” offering no “criticism” or “distancing” from Okamoto’s actions and instead presenting a “heroic vision, completely out of step with who Okamoto was: a killer.”
 +
During the trial, prosecutors argued that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the war in Gaza “cannot serve as a totem of immunity,” insisting that political grievances do not excuse statements that glorify terrorist violence.
 +
Although Hassan exercised her right to remain silent during the proceedings, she first denounced what she called an “attempt at intimidation” and the “silence of an opposition elected official,” accusing authorities of judicial harassment.
 +
Hassan, who was born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria, has repeatedly drawn controversy over her outspoken anti-Israel activism and faced investigations for promoting hateful speech.
 +
In one of the latest incidents, the pro-Palestinian lawmaker could face disciplinary action after removing Israeli and EU flags from an exhibition commemorating the victims of the Hamas-led invasion of and massacre across southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, as the memorial marked the third anniversary of the attacks.
 +
Last year, the French citizen was expelled from Israel after being arrested while attempting to reach Gaza aboard the vessel Madleen to “break the Israeli blockade.”
 +
She has also been subject to an investigation in Paris for “apology of terrorism” following an interview given after the Oct. 7 atrocities, in which she justified Hamas’s actions.

NY Dem Party would’ve publicized measure if it was about anything but Jew-hatred, GOP NYC Council member says.
 +
“The moderates could have used the measure’s wide support to take a firm stance against antisemitism,” Inna Vernikov told JNS. “Unfortunately, they care more about appeasing the far-Left than about meaningfully protecting Jews.”
 +
Rikki Zagelbaum.
 +
 +
(Oct. 20, 2026 / JNS) The New York State Democratic Party passed a resolution condemning Jew-hatred earlier this month but failed to mention that in its public announcement, the New York Post reported earlier this week.
 +
The resolution was approved shortly after Jay Jacobs, who is Jewish and pro-Israel, was reelected party chairman on Oct. 1. The party’s announcement about the leadership elections did not mention the measure.
 +
 +
“That was a mistake. We dropped the ball,” Jacobs told the Post about the party’s failure to publicize the measure. He attributed the omission to focus on internal party elections.
 +
 +
“I want the people to know what the New York Democratic Party is doing to confront antisemitism,” he told the Post. “It’s consequential.”
 +
 +
“Contemporary antisemitism often manifests through subtle rhetoric, coded language and dog whistles,” the resolution states.
 +
 +
It lists examples including “Holocaust denial and distortion, modern blood libels depicting Jewish people as inherently murderous or targeting children, conspiracy theories alleging Jewish control of governments, financial institutions, or the media, accusations of dual loyalty to Israel and the use of Israel as a pretext for hostility toward Jewish people or Jewish institutions.”
 +
 +
Inna Vernikov, a Jewish Republican member of the New York City Council and co-chair of its bipartisan task force on Jew-hatred, told JNS that the party of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat, “would not have forgotten to publicize a resolution condemning any other form of hatred.”

(Oct. 20, 2026 / JNS) George Horn, of Dundalk, Md., faces three years in prison after pleading guilty to defacing Jewish tombstones at Ohr Knesseth Israel Anshe Sfard Cemetery in Baltimore County with antisemitic symbols, including Nazi swastikas, the U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday.
 +
Horn “admitted that he targeted the cemetery because it is a Jewish cemetery,” the department said.

The 36-year-old admitted that he defaced “multiple” gravestones in the cemetery, which is in the Baltimore area, in July 2023.
 +
 +
“Days later, cemetery caretakers discovered 12 gravestones spray painted with swastikas and other symbols,” the Justice Department said. “Despite the caretakers’ efforts, black spray paint residue in the outline of a swastika remained on some of the gravestones necessitating replacements.”
 +
 +
“Evidence shows that Horn had antisemitic animus toward Jewish people,” the department stated.

Dozens of Palestinian Authority security officers have reportedly received extensive military training in China, including:
 +
 +
• Armored and mechanized warfare
 +
• Anti-tank combat and marksmanship
 +
• Advanced navigation and maritime operations
 +
• Military command courses lasting months
 +

Bill Ackman blasts ‘radicalized, anti-American’ Democratic Party and ‘disasters’ Pritzker, Newsom.
 +
By Taylor Herzlich.
 +
Oct. 20, 2026
 +
Billionaire hedge funder Bill Ackman
 +
says the Democratic Party is in the worst shape in its history – and thinks likely 2028 presidential contenders like Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and California Gov. Gavin Newsom are “disasters.”
 +
On a Tuesday episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast,” Ackman said there are some impressive Democratic members of Congress, but insisted the party as a whole has fallen into shambles.
 +
“I think the Democratic Party is in the worst place it’s ever been. In the 250-year history of the country,” the founder of Pershing Square Capital Management said.
 +
“I think it’s become like this crazy, radicalized, you know, anti-American thing.”
 +
 +
He zeroed in on Democratic politicians who, he said, have been bending the knee to more extreme party members — specifically jabbing at New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, the Democratic minority leader.
 +
 +
“I think the problem with people who’ve chosen to be a politician for a career, you either have to get with the party in order to continue or you get primaried,” Ackman said.
 +
“Sen. Schumer, I had a good relationship with him over the years. I thought he was a good man. But in recent years, I felt he’s just trying to keep his job. And, you know, that’s the really low point for politicians, when they’ll compromise on their values,” he added.
 +
“And they’ll support, you know, a quasi-terrorist perhaps running for Senate in Michigan because they have to for the party. Stuff like that to me is – or terrorist supporter – I find that pretty, deeply concerning.”
 +
He was seemingly nodding to far-leftist Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. His GOP opponent, Mike Rogers, has sought to link El-Sayed
 +
to the Muslim Brotherhood, a terror-designated Islamist group.
 +
[...]
 +
Ackman said he has some friends in the Democratic Party, like New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker – but that he can’t think of a single candidate who could win his vote in the 2028 presidential election.
 +
 +
“I probably have as many, if not more, friends who are Democrats than Republicans. But, you know, I haven’t seen a good presidential candidate – certainly none of the names, you know — Pritzker, Newsom,” Ackman said. “I think these are, you know, disasters.”
 +
At one point, when Katie Miller – wife of top Trump aide Stephen Miller and a former aide at Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency – referred to Ackman as a reformed “lifelong Democrat,” the billionaire quickly pushed back.
 +
“I wasn’t a lifelong – see, this is what you’re getting wrong,” Ackman said. “So, I was always a centrist. I didn’t align with a party. But in New York City, if you want to vote in an election like where it’s going to matter, like the primary, you have to register.
 +
 +
“I was an independent, and then there was an important election. I registered as a Democrat to vote for whomever, I don’t remember who, and then I, you know, hadn’t checked my registration in years kind of thing.”
 +
Ackman has a long history of donating to prominent Democrats, including former President Barack Obama. More recently, he donated thousands of dollars to GOP-backed PACs and supported former Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s failed bid to defeat New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
 +
Ackman initially congratulated Mamdani on his mayoral win, but later bashed the mayor’s policies as “very bad for New York.”
 +
The moneyman specifically lambasted a rent freeze on nearly 1 million apartments, which he argued could discourage investment and worsen the city’s housing shortage.
 +
He also tore into Mamdani for filming a viral video about his pied-à-terre tax outside billionaire Ken Griffin’s Manhattan penthouse, warning the new mayor could drive business leaders and their investments out of the city.
