::::::Please note that this is still a relatively small(but growing) website compared to Wikipedia. Jimbo may not step in anymore, but is it possible that, when Wikipedia was small site, he did? --[[User:David R|<<-David R->>]] 20:48, 9 March 2007 (EST)

::::: 1) Anybody can nominate an admin. In fact, anyone can nominate ''themselves'' as an admin. There is then a discussion in which people express support/oppose/neutral. The decision-making process is: "At the end of that period, a bureaucrat will review the discussion to see whether there is a consensus for promotion. The numbers of people supporting, opposing, or expressing another opinion on a candidacy are a significant factor in determining consensus (few RfAs succeed with less than 75% support), but a request for adminship is not a ballot."
::::: 2) It is difficult to describe Jimbo's role. It would be silly to suggest he doesn't have one. He is enormously respected by the community and even casual suggestions of his carry great weight. If he truly believed there was a problem with political bias in Wikipedia he would try to do something about it. But he has an ''extremely'' light touch. I don't know how it was before 2003, but that was certainly true in 2003. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith]] 21:04, 9 March 2007 (EST)
