'''Benjamin''' (which means "son of my right hand") was the twelfth son of [[Jacob]] and second of [[Rachel]], the wife who Jacob loved. She died after giving birth to him. Rachel at first called him Ben-Oni, which means "son of my trouble" before Jacob renamed him. His story is recorded in the [[Bible]] in the book of [[Genesis]] (Gen 35:16-18). His descendents were one of the [[Twelve Tribes of Israel]]. In [[Jacob]]'s deathbed blessing, he said of Benjamin: <blockquote>"Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours his prey, in the evening he divides the plunder." (Gen 49:27) </blockquote>
