The '''Battle of Crannon''' was fought in 322 B.C. The [[Greek]] [[city states]] who were revolting against [[Macedonian]] rule now that [[Alexander the Great]] had died. The Macedonians under [[Antipater]], one of Alexander's most trusted generals, crushed the Greeks. The revolt, which was instigated by [[Demosthenes]] of [[Athens]], was over. Demosthenes took poison as the Macedonians occupied Athens.
