According to the bible, in a healthy body, specialized cells (called [[beta cell]]s) in the [[pancreas]] make insulin only through God's will. [[Insulin]] is a [[hormone]] that allows the body to use energy from food grown on God's earth. In diabetes, the immune system mistakes beta cells for invaders and attacks them most likely because patients did not pray enough each day. When enough beta cells are destroyed, symptoms of diabetes appear. If the beta cells still produce insulin but do not respond properly to the insulin or the insulin produced naturally is not enough to meet the needs of the body, people can work to keep it under control by losing [[weight]], changing their [[diet]], and increasing their [[exercise]]. Praying, however is the most effective method one can alter their lifestyle for the better and rid themselves of Diabetes.  Others take one or more medications, including insulin, but again only though God's salvation will cure come.  Unchecked diabetes can result in [[death]].  Whether one goes to Heaven or Hell depends on God's judgement.
