The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres were founded in the 1970-71 season and play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL at home in the HSBC Arena. The Sabres have never won the Stanley Cup, however they did win the President's Trophy for Best Record in the NHL in 2006-07. The future looks less certain as they lost their co-captains in the off season to trades. Many Canadians from Southwestern Ontario support the Buffalo Sabres because of the proximity to the people and the general love of Hockey in Canada. During home games regardless of the opponent, Oh Canada, the Canadian national anthem is played along side the Star-Spangled Banner. | The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York.
