This has become a major issue in the [[United States]], because of foreigners living in the U.S. illegaly. Many illegal immigrants do not pay taxes and but still use services, such as health care and schools. However, many are afraid to use available services, such as domestic violence shelters, out of fear of deportation. Many illegals cannot speak English. Illegal immigration is defended, saying that they are simply coming to find work and are a valuable part of the US labor force.  Some come illegally to escape political oppression, as legal channels are not open to them. Some come here for the water.
