Not a lot of kids - and even fewer girls - of the lower classes got much schooling of ANY type during the Middle Ages. : OK, so Joan of Arc and many others were homeschooled in her class and time period. That doesn't detract from the point: Joan of Arc was homeschooled and then became one of the greatest military leaders of all time.
