Hey, this is a great idea for an essay. I would like to point out a correction though: God is not mentioned in the Constitution. You can see for yourself [http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html here] (just search for the word god). As a matter of fact, Religion is only mentioned twice in the Constitution - of course in the First Amendment (the establishment clause and free exercise clause), and in Article VI (no religious qualifications for holding office).
