Albert Wohlstetter received his a B.A. from the City College of New York in 1934, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University (where he studied mathematics together with Paul Wolfowitz's father Jacob Wolfowitz) near the end of the 1930s.  His wife was the influential military intelligence analyst Roberta Wohlstetter.  He has one daughter, Joan Wohlstetter Hall.
