While the traditional American left's hatred for Jews and Jewish traditions has been well documented, some antisemitism watchdog groups have unfairly equated critizizing the state of Israel with hatred of Jewish culture. Conservative commentator and former Nixon speechwriter [[Patrick Buchanan]] has been decried as an antisemite because of his criticism of [[Israel]] as well as his support of Nazi war criminals facing deportation from the United States.
