Blitzkrieg after the war
Line 1: Line 1:
I feel like wiping the last edit. The premise that ''massed artillery bombardment was first used to weaken and demoralize enemy forces before an advance'' was first used in the American Civil War is an insult to any military commander from the Assyrians and before. And both 'shock and awe" and 'blitzkrieg' refer to the advance itself, not the pre-attack softening up. I don't want to come trampling in to an article that seems to be coming along nicely - but I do think that that addition is wrong. [[User:AlanE|AlanE]] 23:42, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

The Egyptian airforce wasn't destroyed, but it was horribly degraded and unable to put up real resistance.  The Israeli advance in 1956 was just as fast as 1967, so this would appear to be in error. [[User:Learn together|Learn together]] 01:56, 31 July 2007 (EDT)
