The idea of a Young Earth states that, based on biblical timelines and genealogies, the planet on which we live is roughly 6,000 to 10,000 years old.  This is in opposition to the view held by most mainstream scientists that the Earth is on the order of roughly 4.5 billion years old.

The idea of a Young Earth states that, based on biblical timelines and genealogies, the planet on which we live is roughly 6,000 to 10,000 years old.  This is in opposition to the view held by most mainstream scientists that the Earth is on the order of roughly 4.5 billion years old. This theory does not explain how electro-magnetic radiation from 24 million light years away has already reached us (earth) in under 10,000 years, thus scientifically disproving this theory all-together. Some fundamentalist who say scientists and go as far as all of science is a vast conspiracy reject some of these facts with god did it, very compelling argument to most of society.
