Metazoa are multicellular organisms. Traditionally, Linnaean taxonomy classified all of life into two domains: Protozoa (unicellular) and Metazoa (multicellular)<ref>http://www-biol.paisley.ac.uk/Courses/Tatner/biomedia/units/prot1.htm</ref>. While unicelluar life has since been shown to include different forms (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, archaebacteria), all metazoans are eukaryotic<ref>http://www-biol.paisley.ac.uk/Courses/Tatner/biomedia/glossary/glossary.htm#Metazoa</ref>.
Metazoans comprise all the animals, plants, and fungi on the planet.
