In 2000, Paxton was signed by the [[New England Patriots]] as a undrafted, rookie free agent. He long snapped every punt and field goal in his rookie season for the Patriots and he still is the Patriots starter at the position currently. Since he joined the Patriots in 2000 he has only missed three out of a possible 112 games that he could play in.
