Albert Gore was the Vice President of the [[United States]] (1993-2001). He also ran for the Presidency in 2000, losing narrowly to [[George W. Bush]]. He now is famous for giving lectures promoting a response at the civic and governmental levels to global warming. Some of these lectures were turned into the documentary [[An Inconvenient Truth]]. He apparently will not be running for President in 2008.

He has said that he does not plan to run for President in 2008 at this point.
