As of September 2007, [[Republican]]-appointed active judges outnumber [[Democratic]]-appointed active judges by only 8-6, and at least one [[Republican]]-appointed judge ([[Deborah Cook]]) voted to invalidate [[Michigan]]'s ban on [[partial-birth abortion]] in ''[[Northland Family Planning Clinic, Inc. v. Cox]]'', 487 F.3d 323 (6th Cir. June 4, 2007).
