The '''Prohibition Party''' is a political party in the United States, founded in 1869, which still exists today. The Prohibition Party favors the prohibition of the manufacture, sale, and use of [[alcoholic beverages]]. The party had some minor success including electing a member of the [[U.S. Congress]] and a governor of [[Florida]], but was never a major political party despite seeing their main goal come to pass, the enactment of the [[18th Amendment]] in 1919. The 18th Amendment was repealed in 1933.
