'''Chuck Smith''' is the founder of the [[Calvary Chapel]] fellowship of churches, beginning with the original Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California in the late 1960's. Reaching out to hippies and ex-hippies during the [[Jesus Movement]], Smith's original churches spread so that today over 1,000 churches have the name Calvary Chapel.
Apart from his pastoring, Smith is a prolific author of [[Christian]] works.
