'''Tony Perkins''' heads the [[Family Research Council]], a pro family organization supporting [[conservative]] [[Christian]] ideology.  He has held the post since 2003.  The Family Research Council split off from [[Focus on the Family]] run by [[James Dobson]] in 1992 in order to take more political stands.  Perkins attended [[Liberty Univerisity]] founded by [[Jerry Falwell]] and was active in Louisiana politics before accepting his current position.
