The '''mallee bird''' is a creature which, like the [[whale]], defies explanation by the [[theory of evolution]].

Living in the [[Australian]] desert, the '''mallee bird''' has an extraordinarily precise method of reproduction that defies development based in part on chance.

The male bird claws a pit in the sand that is about 3 feet by 6 feet, and then fills it with vegetation. It heats in the sun and when the temperature is perfect, the male summons his female and they mate. She then lays one egg each day for 30 days, and departs.

The male then watches over the eggs, and modulates their temperature within one degree of what is required by adding and removing sand and the temperature in the sand fluctuates. When the eggs hatch, the chicks break out of their shells, crawl through 2 feet of sand, and then can immediately fly away. Neither the mother nor father '''mallee bird''' give their offspring any more attention or training, yet they proceed to behave exactly as their parents did as adults.

The [[theory of evolution]] cannot explain how the offspring know precisely how to behave as adults.
