A salmon is type of fish used in many dishes, and commonly in sushi. They are distingished by their unique migratory and breeding tendencies. Salmon have the miraculous ability to find the original stream where they were born after swimming around for years in the ocean, and returning there to breed.

<Endangerment>
Due to many factors, including water pollution and overfishing, salmon are endangered in some areas. However, Dick Cheney allowed potentialy dangerous water to flow through rivers in Oregon as opposed to holding it and examining it in 2002. As a result, more than 10,000 salmon were rotting, dead, on Oregon river banks. This was stated in an article by the Washington Post in an article about the vice president in June 2007.
