'''Mount Doom''' is the name of the large volcano in [[The Lord of the Rings]] by [[J.R.R. Tolkien]]. Its Elvish name is ‘Orodruin’. It is near the Dark Tower in the Land of [[Mordor]]. It was where the One Ring was made by [[Sauron]], in the Cracks of Doom (‘Sammath Naur’) and it therefore is the only place that the Ring can be destroyed, so [[Frodo Baggins]] and his servant and friend, Sam Gamgee, must take it there if they can.
