'''Terah''' was the father of [[Abraham]]<ref>Genesis 11:26.</ref> At first he lived in Ur of the Chaldees, but later he took his sons to Haran.<ref>Genesis 11:32.</ref>

Terah was an idolater.<ref>Joshua 24:2</ref> In fact, there are suggestions that Terah atually "made and sold idols," and even required [[Abraham]] to sell idols for him.<ref>http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=149&letter=T</ref>
